Scott Ployer joined The Community Builders, Inc. (TCB) in March 2009 as a portfolio manager, assuming a significant level of responsibility for the TCB Eastern Massachusetts portfolio. In April 2012, he was promoted to his current position, Director of Facilities Management. Mr. Ployer has over 25 years of progressive property, facilities, asset and construction management and safety experience. During this time, Mr. Ployer has utilized this well-rounded depth of experience and “outside the box” thinking to improve sites financial condition and overall market position. He has a reputation of being a work-out specialist; repositioning troubled assets to achieve a higher level of performance. Whether affordable or conventional; condominium or commercial, Mr. Ployer has a proven track record of delivering the highest level of service to owners, agencies, tenants and residents. Mr. Ployer understands that improving a site's quality of life for its residents is equal if not tantamount to having a financially stable development. Striking this balance can be tricky but Mr. Ployer has done just that, time and time again.
Immediately prior to joining The Community Builders, Mr. Ployer spent over seven years with Corcoran Jennison Companies in Boston. During this time Mr. Ployer was promoted four times; originally hired as a Regional Manager, within a year he assumed the role as Director of Operations for the northeast overseeing 27 properties in New England. The same year the owners, realizing that his operations skills were superlative, appointed him their asset manager of three HOPE VI sites in their joint venture partnership, Beacon/CJ Management. Working alongside Beacon’s senior staff, all three sites increased rents, decreased operating expenses, improved resident services and yielded positive cash flows. A year later he was promoted to Director of Asset Management. As the Owner’s Representative, he worked with property management overseeing and approving budgets, successfully refinancing and preserving a number of expiring use sites. His last position was a Vice President / Portfolio Manager overseeing their third party investors portfolio as well as the CJ Commercial Division.
Prior to CJ/CMJ, Mr. Ployer was Vice President and Regional Manager of FIC Management, Inc., in Newton MA; District Manager – Southern New England for Insignia Management Group and Business Manager for Cornu Management Company in Boston, based at their flagship property, Mission Park, for his tenure there.
