COMMUNITY LIFEWe are more than housing. In partnership with residents, TCB Community Life initiatives advance equity by creating communities of opportunities where all people can thrive.

HOW COMMUNITY LIFE WORKS

Circle Graphic

Community Life utilizes a resident-centered approach, placing resident experience, agency, and opportunity at the foundation of what we do. Service Coordinators are trained in resident-centered coaching to increase a resident’s sense of agency and control over their lives. An increased sense of agency and control has been linked to increases in feeling valued, economic mobility, participation in community engagement activities, and housing stability.

Community Life strives to create more equitable access to community resources and opportunities for TCB families, seniors, and disabled households. When resources and opportunities are limited or unavailable, Community Life works with local partners to bring these resources and opportunities to our residents.

RESIDENT AND COMMUNITY SUCCESS

Play Video

Community Life leads the Avondale Children Thrive collaboration to address the social determinants of children’s health in Cincinnati. Our goals include increased numbers of: community gardens, smoke-free housing; stores offering healthy foods; babies being breastfed; mothers reading to their babies; and children in early education programs.

MEASURING OUR IMPACT

We use mixed methods to inform community success plans; we also use a process tracking system to measure our progress throughout the year.

The Community Life annual survey shows the progress that communities are making toward accomplishing their community goals and objectives.
