Mixed-income, mixed-use development will add 63 homes and retail to Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood

July 20, 2023 – (Chicago) – The Community Builders (TCB) is pleased to announce the financial closing and start of construction for 4715 N Western, a mixed-use, mixed-income transit-oriented development in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood. 4715 N Western will improve this community gateway location with ground floor commercial space, improved pedestrian-oriented design, public parking, and 63 apartments affordable to a mix of incomes.

“We are excited to begin construction on 4715 N Western. This milestone marks our continued commitment to strengthening the Lincoln Square neighborhood through equitable transit-oriented development that improves affordability and complements existing businesses and cultural assets,” said Will Woodley, Midwest regional vice president of The Community Builders. “On behalf of The Community Builders, I extend my deepest thanks to the many stakeholders making this development possible, including the City of Chicago, Alderman Matt Martin, and Alderman Andre Vasquez.”

Steps away from the Western Brown Line station, the six-story building will feature 25 studios, 29 one-bedroom and nine two-bedroom apartments affordable to households earning from 80% to below 30% of area median income (AMI). Resident amenities include a lounge, terrace, bike room, package room, and resident parking. The development will also feature 5,500 square feet of ground floor commercial space and 18 public parking spaces on the second floor.
