George Tabit

Senior Vice President of Real Estate Development, Great Lakes

George Tabit serves as Senior Vice President of Real Estate Development for The Community Builders (TCB), a position he has held since 2024. He directs all real estate development activities in the TCB Great Lakes region, which includes Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and southern Indiana and comprises nearly 2,500 homes and $435.5 million in investments. He serves as relationship executive for the region and leads project management teams in identifying and executing residential and mixed-use developments from conception to completion.

George worked for nearly six years at National Church Residences where he served as vice president of senior housing development and as a senior living developer. He built and managed a robust $140 million pipeline of projects and launched a new product line of independent living communities designed to meet the needs of middle-income seniors without affordable housing options. George is a seasoned housing development professional who has also held leadership roles at Homeport, a nonprofit organization dedicated to broadening affordable housing choices in Central Ohio and the Columbus Compact Corporation, which operated a $5 million annual budget under the federal Empowerment Zone program.

George holds a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Miami University. He served in the United States Peace Corps in the West African country of Togo. An Ohio native, he lives in the City of Bexley with his family.
