Kristin Nelson serves as director of design/construction in New York for The Community Builders, Inc., a position she has held since 2022. Kristin leads a team of design and construction managers who support the prospecting, planning, design and construction phases of development deals in New York and New Jersey.
Previously, Kristin served as senior design/construction manager for TCB, overseeing a range of high-rise new construction projects in New York City, combining her interests in urban environments and mission-driven solutions. Prior to joining TCB in 2018, she spent two decades as an architect for Dattner Architects where she served as director of the firm’s housing design studio.
Kristin holds a Master of Design Studies from Harvard Graduate School of Design, a master’s degree in psychology from New School University and a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Virginia Tech. She is a registered architect, a member of the American Institute of Architects, and currently serves on the board of directors of Women in Housing and Finance, a New York-based organization focused on professional growth of women in the housing development industry.
