Leah Whiteside serves as director of acquisitions and preservation for The Community Builders. (TCB), a position she has held since 2023. Leah leads the acquisition of occupied properties and develops recapitalization strategies for assets across TCB’s regions.

Leah joined TCB as a finance project manager in 2021. Before that, she worked as the associate director for real estate development at Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corporation in Boston. In this role, she oversaw the rehabilitation, new construction, leasing, and asset management of more than 70,000 square feet of commercial space dedicated to supporting small businesses, in addition to her work in affordable housing development.

Based in Boston, Leah holds a master’s degree in city planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia.
