Aretha Estep serves as property operations director in the Mid-Atlantic region for The Community Builders (TCB), a position she has held since 2023. Based in TCB’s Washington, D.C. office, Aretha leads operations of a 1,556-unit portfolio of commercial, family and senior residential properties located across Pennsylvania, Marland, North Carolina and Washington, D.C.

Previously, Aretha served as property operations manager for TCB’s Mid-Atlantic region. Prior to joining TCB, she served as a regional manager for a property management firm in Annapolis, MD., where she oversaw 14 tax credit, rural, conventional, Section 8, senior and multifamily sites.

Aretha holds a Certified Occupancy Specialist® designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), as well as Certified Credit Compliance Professional (C3P) and S.T.A.R. Rural Development 515 designations from Spectrum. She completed additional training in fair housing with the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO).
