Mary Sugrue serves as property management controller for The Community Builders, Inc. (TCB) in Boston, a position she has held since 2014. Mary manages the operations of the property accounting and accounts payable teams and oversees monthly internal financial reporting and annual audited financial reporting. She develops and delivers accounting-related policies and procedures to ensure that TCB properties are compliant with HUD and other housing agencies and lenders. Mary also provides accounting training to property managers, offering guidance on understanding financial reports.

From 1987 to 2004, Mary served as TCB’s senior accounting manager overseeing property accounting operations. Before rejoining TCB in 2014, Mary served as portfolio controller for Winn Residential where she directed a portfolio of approximately 100 properties. Prior to that, she served as assistant controller at Corcoran Jennison Management Company.

Mary graduated from Tralee Regional College in Ireland with honors in economics. She is also a Certified Financial Manager®.
